As we move through the season, we remain committed to keeping you informed, uplifted, and empowered. This month’s newsletter includes critical updates on SNAP benefits, an invitation to our upcoming wine benefit, and ways to connect with other families walking a similar journey. You are not alone and we are here every step of the way.

SNAP Benefits & Food Access: What Families Need to Know

Navigating resources to substitute SNAP benefits can be overwhelming right now, but we’re here to help you stay informed and supported.

Mobile distributors like Meals on Wheels now deliver fresh produce, protein, and dry goods to rural families and elderly residents with limited access to grocery stores. Houston Food Banks offers a tool that allows you to find food near you. Additionally, DoorDash is now waiving delivery fees for SNAP recipients and partner food banks to expand access to nutritious meals. GoPuff announced it’s donating groceries to SNAP beneficiaries through local distribution efforts.

If you or someone you know is struggling to get food, reach out and we will help connect you with the right programs.

Resource of the Month: West University Little League-Challenger Sports

Let's Get Ready to Play Ball! Registration for West University Little League-Challenger Sports is now open! Challenger Sports programs provide boys and girls with mental and/or physical disabilities the opportunity to play ball and experience team sports with the assistance of teenage buddies from area middle and high schools. Challenger players can let their abilities shine through on an equal playing field where friendships form and spread so far beyond game day. Challengers, as well as their buddies, learn life lessons about sportsmanship, team spirit, and inclusion as they all play the game they love so much!
